International Harvester Binder in the Grass

Time’s Arrow Series

The McCormack and the International Harvester Binders once cut and bundled the grain into sheaves as the first part of the harvest process. The parts are cast metal and machined gears still showing their engineered beauty. Their power and precision is not lost in the rust and neglect. The stooks of grain acted as temporary homes for mice when their lives were disrupted by the denuded fields. The gods had created these palaces for them. Warm straw homes with an abundant supply of grain. Paradise until the pitch fork lifted the homes away to be smashed and tumbled in the thresher. No one walks the fields now, making each stook. Watching the weather. Planning and calculating odds.cost?
